  • What Kind of Glassware is Standard?
At The Tipsy Hippie Wagon, we put safety and convenience at the heart of every event we serve. That’s why we’ve chosen durable 9oz plastic cups as our standard. This practical choice offers style without compromising safety—minimizing the risk of broken glass and making cleanup simple. For you as the host, it means one less detail to worry about and a smoother, stress-free experience on your big day. With our thoughtfully selected cups, your event stays fun, safe, and effortlessly stylish from the first pour to the last toast. 🥂
  • Do I Need a Licensed Bartender?
Ensuring your event has a professionally managed bar service is essential for both guest safety and overall experience. One common misconception in the industry is the idea of a “bartender license.” In reality, such a license does not exist for a dry hire mobile bar. Certificates from private bartender schools are not state-regulated licenses—anyone can purchase a so-called “license” online for as little as $12. While a “licensed bartender” isn’t an industry standard, we strongly recommend choosing at least an insured bartending service and, ideally, professionals who go above and beyond these basics. Look for bartenders or bar services with recognized certifications, such as Tips—Alabama manages a voluntary Responsible Vendor Program (RVP). TIPS is an approved provider. This certification shows a commitment to both quality service and responsible alcohol handling, ensuring your event bar runs smoothly, safely, and professionally.
  • Identification of Underage Guests
Celebrating your event with us means putting safety first while keeping the fun alive! It’s important to understand the legal requirements around alcohol service: In Alabama, the law strictly prohibits alcohol consumption for anyone under 21. As professional bartenders, we strictly adhere to these regulations. By following these standards, we ensure your celebration is not only vibrant and memorable, but also responsible and safe for everyone. Cheers to unforgettable moments handled the right way! 🥂
  • What About an Open Bar?
An open bar always sounds exciting—but it’s important to understand the logistics and costs, especially in states like Alabama where mobile bartending operates under “dry hire” laws. This means the host must provide all alcohol to be served. For you as the host, an open bar can quickly become a major expense—stocking every type of liquor for all guests, purchasing premium mixers, garnishes, and covering the cost of additional staff to handle the volume. Instead, we encourage a more curated approach that reflects your event’s personality and theme—signature cocktails. This is where The Tipsy Hippie Wagon truly shines, creating an upscale, memorable experience for your guests without unnecessary excess. Picture drinks infused with personality—his-and-her creations, themed concoctions, or specialty cocktails that perfectly complement your celebration’s style. Not only does this elevate the overall guest experience, but it also leaves them with a lasting impression of your event. Let’s craft a custom bar experience that is as unforgettable as the celebration itself. 🥂
  • What is the Standard Tipping Policy?
At The Tipsy Hippie Wagon, your satisfaction is our highest priority. Our team is dedicated to making your event truly spectacular. While tipping is completely optional, it’s a kind way to recognize the exceptional service our staff provides. Guests may choose to tip during the event with a tip collector or more privately at the conclusion of the celebration—either way, your generosity is greatly appreciated. Tips not only acknowledge our team’s professionalism and charm but also help us continue delivering the high standards of service our clients expect. Thank you for considering this thoughtful gesture and for letting us be part of your special day!

  • What is a "dry hire" mobile bar?
Due to state laws in Alabama, we are considered a “dry hire”. Meaning we cannot sell alcohol directly to the consumer. The customer is responsible for the purchase of the alcohol.
